Last week, it was the TCT Show awards, where Physical Digital was shortlisted for the TCT Inspex Application Award for its Nadcap Accredited 3DSL Measurement service using industry-leading GOM metrology systems. The overall winner of the award was the University of Warwick for its work with the West Midlands Police, the Crown Prosecution Service and the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.
Tim Rapley, managing director at Physical Digital says: “Unfortunately, we didn’t win overall at the TCT awards, but we were thrilled to be a finalist in this category, alongside such prestigious applications. We would like to offer our congratulations to the University of Warwick on its success. And we do feel like winners – this is the first year the organisers have created this award category. As TCT says ‘If you can’t measure it, you can’t make it’. It is great to get some recognition and to see an industry body celebrating the precision of data, which often isn’t seen as the most exciting part of the workflow.”
Physical Digital is the first company in the world to offer 3D Structured Light (3DSL) measurement that conforms to the Nadcap standard AC 7130-4 for Measurement and Inspection, the highest calibre of recognition within the field of aerospace dimensional measurement and quality inspection. The environmentally-controlled measurement cell manages both lighting and temperature and measures atmospheric pressure and humidity which are fundamental for dimensional metrology.
Tim continues: “With our Nadcap 3D Structured Light measurement and inspection services, customers can be confident in the accuracy and precision of the data delivered for their projects, as it comes with full traceability. I’m incredibly proud of our highly trained and experienced team of engineers that provide both in-house and mobile measurement and inspection services to such a high quality – and whose hard work put us on the shortlisted.”
The TCT Awards celebrate the innovators, technologies and collaborators behind the best examples of 3D technology across the globe. They are open to companies offering design-to-manufacturing innovation. This new for 2019 Inspex Application Award sought to commend the most significant cases in the field of metrology and inspection.
