Physical Digital takes part in Siemens One PLM Digital University

Jet Turbine

October 17th sees the return of Siemens’ One PLM Digital University event, the largest Siemens event in the UK and Ireland at Silverstone Circuit. And this year, Physical Digital will be exhibiting and demonstrating its 3d scanning, reverse engineering, measurement and inspection services.

Aimed at users from all over the UK and Ireland, the free event includes over 30 technical breakout sessions for Siemens design, simulation, manufacturing and product lifecycle management software. The event has something to offer for everyone – from beginners who are just getting started, to experts who have been around for many years. It is a chance to share knowledge and experience and is packed full of demos of the latest developments and technology, networking and expert talks.

Product Experts

The Physical Digital team will be exhibiting in the product experts explore area where we will be highlighting our approach to projects from across many business sectors and especially the work we have completed for the aerospace and industrial gas turbine sector.

We will be showcasing our 3D Structured Light (3DSL) measurement that is accredited to the Nadcap standard AC 7130-4 for measurement and inspection. This is the highest level of recognition within the field of aerospace dimensional measurement and quality inspection, with Physical Digital the first company in the world to have achieved this. We will be on hand to explain our approach and to inspire anyone who visits the stand.

Tim Rapley, Managing Director at Physical Digital, says: “We love being part of days like this. As well as being able to talk about what we are really passionate about, it is great to hear what challenges users and people in businesses are facing, in case we can help. It is also great to gauge what is going on for us to be able to develop future solutions. We are really looking forward to it.”

The event, which is being held at The Wing at Silverstone Circuit, starts at 10am but you can attend an extra breakout from 8.30-9.30am. The event closes at 4.30pm. More details about what will be happening during the day can be found by downloading the agenda.

What is the TCT Inspex Award? :

In the words of the TCT Award Team “If you can’t measure it, you can’t make it”, and as specialists in the field of metrology we couldn’t agree more! Accurate and fully traceable measurement is vital, especially when it comes to liability. The quality and accuracy of the data delivered by Physical Digital are provided with an unbroken chain of traceability back to international standards. The Inspex Application Award seeks to commend the most significant case study in the field of metrology and inspection.
