Evolution of Physical Digital
Founded in 2005, Physical Digital’s first measurement facility opened in Woking, Surrey. To support company growth and demand along with ever-advancing technologies, the company heavily invested in the latest equipment including an GOM ATOS Scanbox Series 5 for non-contact, automated metrology and in 2017 relocated to a larger facility in Guildford, Surrey.
In 2019 Physical Digital was acquired by the Trescal Group. The business now benefits from the support of this international company and continues to evolve and develop as a business, investing in new technologies and resource, whilst providing our customers with the excellent level of service and expertise that the team at Physical Digital has always prided itself on.

Physical Digital’s team of engineers specialise in high-resolution, non-contact optical measurement solutions using 3DSL, providing a fast, accurate and cost-effective way of collecting physical detailed data. The company’s 3D scanning and quality inspection services enables engineers to analysis products, make design improvements, reduce prototyping errors, guarantee quality and consistency in production. The team of in-house design engineers offer a full design and reverse engineering service, meaning that Physical Digital can support your business with a complete end to end solution, from 3D measurement through to reverse engineering design, re-manufacture and quality control.
In 2019 Physical Digital were the world’s first company to be accredited to Nadcap standards accreditation for their measurement and inspection services using 3DSL, and have recently been reaccredited until February 2023. Our Nadcap accreditation provides recognition of excellence in a specialised field by the consensus of leading Aerospace companies.
Physical Digital is accredited and certified for its Quality Management System by Nadcap for AC7004 and BSI, a UKAS accredited body, for ISO 9001:2015. Physical Digital is also accredited by Safecontractor, providing its’ customers with the reassurance that it adheres to excellent health and safety practises.
